Wayne Fire Department Pancake Breakfast is back

The first 120 children who purchase a breakfast ticket will get to adopt their very own 7-inch stuffed Fire Dog on Saturday, October 10.

By Sarah Shurge – Mark your calendars and prepare to show up hungry, the City of Wayne Fire Department Annual Pancake Breakfast returns on Saturday, October 10th.
Everyone is invited to stop by the Wayne Fire Department (3300 S. Wayne Rd) from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. for breakfast, family fun, and a chance to support an important local cause.
Each breakfast includes: three pancakes (you may return for more), three sausage links (limited to only three), and your choice of milk, chocolate milk, orange juice, water, or coffee.
Tickets are: $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.
“Your breakfast does more than fill your plate; proceeds help support the Wayne Fire Department Public Education Fund,” said Lisa Kubany, Wayne Downtown Development Authority Marketing and Events Director.
The event will have raffles, face painting, games, and family fun.
This year, the Wayne Fire Department has a surprise planned for its youngest guests.
The first 120 children who purchase a breakfast ticket will get to adopt their very own 7-inch stuffed Fire Dog. Each child can name their new Fire Dog and take it home after breakfast. (There are only 120 available, so families hoping to adopt a Fire Dog will want to arrive early).
Please plan ahead when arriving at the Fire Department. Parking directly behind the Wayne Fire Department is reserved for handicap parking only.
Public parking is available on surrounding side streets and in the parking lots behind the storefronts between Ash and Elm Streets on both the east and west sides of Wayne Road.
“Guests who park across Wayne Road should use extra caution when crossing this busy roadway. Families are encouraged to keep children close and cross carefully,” said Kubany.
Would your child like to celebrate their birthday at the Wayne Firehouse? For $10 per ticket, guests can enter for a chance to win a birthday party at the Wayne Fire Department. Tickets are on sale at the Fire Department. The drawing winner will be announced Tuesday, October 20th. (You do not need to be present to win).
