By Sarah Shurge – The City of Wayne is always excited to welcome new businesses to the community. We’d like to shout out a few local businesses that have had ribbon cutting ceremonies recently.
T&G Skylight Liquor had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 21st.
What was formerly West Town Market, became T&G Skylight Liquor when Tarlochan Singh took over around Wednesday, July 26th.
T&G Skylight Liquor was closed for about one month for remodel.
“We cleaned up the inside of the store and painted the outside of the building,” said Singh, T&G Skylight Liquor Owner.
T&G Skylight Liquor is a one-stop shop that sells a little bit of everything. You can purchase liquor, beer, wine, groceries, and frozen food.
“Please come check out the store at least once,” said Singh. “We have a good selection of ice cream, nice prices, and a clean store.”
T&G Skylight Liquor is open 9a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. -11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is located at 4098 Howe Rd on the corner of Howe and Forest St.

Snazzy Treats and Eats is not only a convenience store, but also a snack shop featuring ice cream, candy, chips, and more.
“We make just about everything to order,” said Charlotte Sealie, Snazzy Treats and Eats owner.
“You can always find your favorite ice cream flavor and if you can’t find what you like, tell me and I can get it for you.”
Sealie wants the community to know that Snazzy Treats and Eats accepts EBT payments.

Our third shout out goes to Moonlit Mystic. Moonlit Mystic is an edgy and eclectic metaphysical store that opened Friday, May 13th, 2022.
You can find crystal carvings, jewelry, books, and many other unique oddities there.
“We have something special to offer in Downtown Wayne. A store like this doesn’t really exist in this area, and we stand apart from other metaphysical stores.” said Tiffany Walker, Moonlit Mystic owner.
Walker opened an event space next door to Moonlit Mystic for workshops, activities, events, and private services.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was on Thursday, October 12th.
The new space has a private tarot reading room and has different tarot readers and mediums that come in to offer services.
You can find what events are being offered at the space by checking Moonlit Mystic’s website under “upcoming events.”
The space is available to rent for private events or parties.
“We invite the community to come check us out and see what we have to offer and experience our events,” said Walker.

Our last shout out goes to Wayne Chicken and Fish, which had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, October 17th.
Wayne Chicken and Fish is a carry-out restaurant for fried fish and chicken.
“We’ve been in business over 16 years, but we’re new to the area,” said Murad Yousef, Wayne Chicken and Fish owner. “It was a really nice grand opening, there were people from the city, the mayor, and the police chief.”
Wayne Chicken and Fish does homemade style food, the foods are marinated overnight, and the grease is filtered every night.
“I’m not just the owner, I’m also the chef,” said Yousef. “Everything is done by us. We have a lot of good stuff, good food.”
