Kathryn “Kathy” Delane Koveleski
passed away on April 4, 2025 after living an amazing 99 years. Her final days were spent peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Known for her outlook to seize the most out of every day, Kathy will be remembered for her love of travel, theater, cards, church, and family gatherings.
A true educator at heart, Kathy taught special needs children for over thirty years, dedicating her career to improving the lives of others. Outside of the classroom Kathy was a fan of Broadway theater, potlucks with friends, and enjoying the Florida sun during the cold Michigan winter months. Ever involved in the community, she was an active member of the Wayne Literary and Garden Clubs. Never more than an arm’s length away from a deck of cards, Kathy loved to sit with friends and family while playing bridge, canasta, or euchre while sharing stories and laughing. She drank her coffee black, enjoyed merlot and champagne, and loved to curl up in a chair with a good book.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Casper and is survived by her two daughters; Martha (Chris) and Ann; three grandchildren, Samuel (Shiela), Joshua (Krystle), and Joe; and seven great-grandchildren; Caitlyn, Zachary, Lydia, Oakleigh, Mila, Eliana, and Leighton. She is also survived by her sister Henrietta Browning of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Kathy was the matriarch of the family and a staple at all family gatherings for multiple generations. She was a loyal friend and a loving relative to an ever-growing family.
A memorial service will be held on August 12, 2025, the date of her 100th birthday at the First Congregational Church in Wayne, Michigan. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to the First Congregational Church of Wayne. The family wants to thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers and wishes for you to think of the happy memories of Kathy that will always bring a smile to your face.
